AT&T shut down Usenet binaries

ATT complaint
I must vent my anger that AT&T DSL suddenly stopped providing access to binary Usenet newsgroups without a word to their customers beforehand. There was no information about the change on their site either. I had to find out by trying and failing to access newsgroups with the word "binaries" in the title. This was on July 21, 2008. I used the online interface to ask what happened and got no response, so I tried again two days later. It is now July 29 and I have heard nothing. What's worse, the only other broadband available here is RoadRunner, who did the same *** thing with their Usenet service!

I wholeheartedly agree. The only reason I haven't switched to another provider is because all the other ones in my area have done the same thing. If I didn't need Internet access for work and school, I'd be tempted to cancel outright...
