ATT in Miami, Florida - Horrible customer service at this point, liars about promotions & gift cards

Let me start by saying that I have been an AT&T wireless customer for many, many years and have never had a problem. Hence, my desire to get TV service with them. U-verse was not available in my territory so I reached out to DirecTv. I had DirecTv installed when they became part of the AT&T Family. I was not particularly happy with their service because of the usual interruptions due to weather and their mini's had a lag when changing channels which was irritating. So when I found out U-verse was finally available in my area I was super excited. I began to call to get it installed. However, I was informed there would be an early termination fee for DirecTv so I decided to just go with internet service. Come day of installation, tech told me he couldn't install because the wires weren't outside yet. I'd have to wait to be contacted. So I had to call comcast and cancel disconnection of internet (everyone know how long that can take right). Then about a week later I see my neighbor is getting U-verse installed so I called and yes we're ready to reschedule. After speaking to numerous reps while simultaneously chatting with AT&T reps online, getting different information from each one, extremely frustrating and hours of my life I can't get back asked to speak to a supervisor and was disconnected. When I finally speak to someone on July 14, 2016, who tells me I can cancel DirecTv and I will receive a $200 gift card to cover the fee and gives me discounts for what I thought was to compensate for all my troubles I was thrilled. I was quoted a price that would last me 2 yrs :) Installation complete 7/19/16. Today I call AT&T to find out where my gift card was since I had already paid the early termination fee and guess what everyone!!! After numerous calls again, being transferred to various places they tell me I'm only getting $150 and now get this, the rep gave me a discount he wasn't supposed to and now I would have to pay $50 more a month on my bill. Spoke to one last person who said he couldn't do the same price either, the least he could do was still roughly $40 over what I was quoted. So I requested to cancel U-verse service and I'm going to cancel wireless as well. AT&T is no longer a company I wish to spend my money on. Luckily there are other providers. They just don't care about their loyal customers anymore. This is an outrage!!!!

ATT in Lawrence, Kansas - AT&T UVerse Internet and Customer Service

I started using ATT's UVerse internet in April of this year. I was mislead from the outset by their customer service representative, lead to believe that 6 MBPS would be more than satisfactory for my wife and I's apartment. I am a novice at best when it comes to any tech so I believed him. This service was not good at all. Extremely slow and did not allow more than one person to use WIFI at a time. I called several times to complain and was even willing to upgrade my service. They told me that they could not provide a higher speed because of the particular area I lived in. Finally, I was so frustrated that I asked if it would be possible to get out of my year contract. The customer service agent assured me that would not be a problem and they would waive the cancellation fee. I followed through with the cancellation with this knowledge in mind. A month or so later I received a bill stating the amount that I owed for cancellation. I called and spoke to several representatives and automated voices to finally get to someone who could offer any help. Again, I was told that the fee would be waived and I would receive notification of that soon. A few days ago I received a letter from a collection agency whom ATT hired to collect the outstanding balance on my account. So, after being told multiple times it would be waived I had to call again. The representative told me that my request to have the fee waived was rejected because according to my contract they did provide the service I signed up for. After being told by multiple ATT workers that the fee would be waived they basically told me that wasn't true. The representative asked me if I wrote down the names of the people at ATT that told me this! That go me laughing because each and every time you call you have to talk to at least 5 *** people before you finally get to someone with an answer. After sensing my anger she agreed to cut the fee in half. Just another example of a massive corporate company *** over a working class citizen, and of what? An amount of money that would equal a fraction of fraction of a penny that they bring in on a yearly basis. I will never use ATT again for any service. Throughout the entire time of being one of their customers I was consistently disappointed with the product, annoyed by their *** customer service, and their prices were twice as much as their local competitors. Avoid them at all costs!

Were should I start. Lets see, so far i have been lied to about my monthly bill, getting the supposedly up to$650 per line that we were promised has been a nightmare. Nothing you submit is correct, they use every excuse under the sun to not give you the visa card for switching over, and for some mysterious reason we are now using more than our data plan allows which means we had to upgrade that also. So fed up!!!!

ATT in Baton Rouge, Louisiana - AT&T Mobile Phone interruptions

Details
Once again, heavy rains and flooding compromise the Baton Rouge switching station (so says webpage). Does Katrina sound familiar when there was no service during the days following? How many years does it take to figure out about high water and service interruption? I guess AT&T, one of the largest companies on the planet, is a little cash strapped these days. Spin it any way you want it, Verizon will be my new mobile phone provider. We have become so dependent on our cell phones we become complacent and except the excuses AT&T gives us to make us feel better.

ATT in Ada, Oklahoma - Direct internet Usage

Details
Directv will freely decide to record on demand shows using your internet. So, if you choose to record a season, that is broadcast, it may decide to record the season using Ondemand instead of broadcast. It may do this some days later, after you set up to record a season that appeared to be all broadcast. It seems absolutely *** to record an on demand season that is downloaded using the internet. ITS ON DEMAND. But it will, and it will suck all your internet from ATT and they will charge you $15/GB for any overage. Oh, but wait, they are the some company. Why wouldn't they do this. Sounds like a class action lawsuit to me.

Ive moved on. I spent several hours on the phone with Directv and ATT. They don't care. 21 years with Directv.

Att Mobile Phone Service Review from Mount Laurel, New Jersey

For the second time -- at the same AT&T retail store -- I was passed over by the store manager for a customer who walked in after me. A different store manager was involved in each incident. The first time this happened I was trying to port my AT&T phone number to another carrier -- a process which should have taken no more than a few hours. AT&T held up this process for three days. By day three I was -- you guessed it -- a pissed consumer! The second time this happened I was trying to get some assistance in dealing with a previous owner of my AT&T phone number. I had been receiving pre-recorded messages from healthcare providers attempting to collect on the previous owner's medical bills. On both occasions, I was asked to leave the store because I dared to express my dissatisfaction with the service I was receiving. I will never do business with AT&T again!

They are doing the same to me. I had an extra phone added to my plan which was unlimited text and calls.

My bills are so high that I barely can make the payments. Mine had run 48.00 each month and every month it goes up. I am going to pay off my phone that I added and shut this sucker down. AT@T are not what they use to be and they never told me about the extra charges they have added.

No more business from me when the extra phone is paid off. I am done with them .

I'm tired of poor service area, dropped calls, and you are building a new headquarters that rivals the pentagon for billions of dollars. You should put it into towers that help your customers, not a building. If I could get a land line that was worth a ***. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Selling phones for 6-800 dollars is just plan ***.

I live in baton rouge and there is major flooding guess who is the only carrier that has shut down all service in the area? u got it at&t!

I will be changing carriers asap because in an emergency they have proven to me they are not to be relied upon.

can you imagine being stranded in high water in the middle of a major city and having no cell phone service? totally unacceptable

ATT in Beulah, Michigan - We forget who the customer is

After reading the complaints, Some are caused by my same issue. AT&T sent out the July update. It fried my Samsung phone. They are very aware of this but would only offer a refurbished phone. Mine is only a few months old. AT&T blamed Samsung. I talked to Samsung who blamed AT&T and Google. What the big companies don't realize is that the consumer is the victim. They caused the problem. Take care of us and they can fight out who is going to pay later. I didn't want a refurbished phone. I had terrible luck with Refurbished phones in the past. They are like a 1999 chevy with a paint job. I contracted with AT&T. They need to take care of me and they can deal with Samsung. Instead we continue to screw the little guy.

I terminated my bundled directv service at the end of my 2 year contract. I was billed for another month of service by at&t even though the directv equipment had been returned. I challenged the AT&T billing error and I was told to contact directv. I then called directv who told me to contact AT&T. To add insult to injury I was charged an early termination fee. I was later threaten by Directv. If I did not pay the $27 bill it would be turned over to a collection agency resulting in a negative impact on my credit report. I reported both parties to the BBB and the FTC. i will never sign another contract with either.
