Back in August 2013 I decided to cancel my AT&T Uverse television, I cancelled because at the time they weren't carrying a channel I wanted. I was switching to Directv and as a result of their relationship with them they decided to handle the changeover. Only one problem, they never disconnected my service and continued to bill me $180.00 a month for 14 months, I actually caught it accidentally because the autopay expired and the account got 3 months behind so they hit my account for just over a $1000.00. The autopay was set up on my Amex as was my AT&T Cell phones so I never caught it, they also did not send me paper bills. I called them once I realized the issue and they said they would escalate it and a manager would get back to me right away, a week past and no-one did, I called again, still nobody got back to me. Third time I called I was put on hold for an 52 minutes before speaking to someone who said "you have 60 days to catch discrepancies, after that you've no recourse and we show you couldn't have cancelled your uverse 14 months ago, you've only had the service 14 months". Clearly this is their problem, all I asked for was for them to pay back what they took and they said "no, you didn't catch it in time". How on earth are these companies allowed to get away with these fraudulent practices, it's clear bullying. I have decided to pursue legal action and will meet an attorney on Monday. My advice, cancel autopay BEFORE you cancel any AT&T service, If they get your money they will never give it back to you. I am cancelling every service I have with this wretched company. Philip

I just had the same issue!!!! Bought my phone on the 19 so in my head 14 days which would be the 3rd. Tried to return on the 3rd and Nope. They said it ran out on the 2nd cause the 19 counted as a day. Of course I complained even called customer care and they didn't do jack ***. Told them the rep who sold it to me didn't tell me that but they watch for their own and they don't care. Customer care even had the balls to tell me the rep who sold it to me didn't note the account that he didn't educate me that the 14 days started on the 19 so I said yea he didn't notate that he educated me either. Moral of the story never buy phones at Att. I will continue to buy through car toys and best buy cause their buyers remorse is actually 14 days.

Industry standard is that the buyer's remorse period begins on date of purchase. This is considered to be common knowledge and is not something that would be typically notated in an account by a rep.

In this instance, the reps are correct. The 19th is Day 1.

The concept behind this period is to allow customers to test their purchases, to ensure product and service quality. Should anything prove to be defective, this allows time to return to the point of sale and make the exchange.

For defects seen outside the 14 day period, there are programs (warranty, insurance) in place that will allow for replacement.

A good customer would begin testing before a purchase is even finalized. If there are no defect in the product and the customer is simply dissatisfied with the (color, size, weight, ease of use, etc.) device, but is outside the 14 day period, this serves as a reminder to always perform good consumer research.

IPhone 6 order cancelled without my request | ATT review from Glendale, California

I placed an Iphone 6 order on Sep 12th trhu premier order site. I received an email saying action required since data plan selected was not correct and kept the order on hold. I tried to reach several time and finally got hold of an agent to resolve the matter. Agent did not know how to address it, and asked me to cancel and place new order. I wanted to keep same shipping date, hence i said dont cancel, but correct the data plan whatever is right and process it. She said that is not possible. Again called another agent and she reprocessed and somehow she made it as duplicate order. now when they cancel the duplicate order, they cancelled the original order as well. And asking me to place new order. Now i missed my shipping date because of purely the ATT folks. And placed new order again and have to wait another 21 business days to get my phone apart from initial 18 days of wait time. I made 15 plus calls so far. 3 cases opened to escalate the case and to give me priority shipping. But no one has answer, just saying sorry. I dunno what am going to do with their sorry, but I never got a solution to my problem so far.

Incorrect Service Cost Review

Att rep edgar 5450 az gave me an incorrect cost of a of a service. Sup maria mb021x gave another cost. Sept 23, 2014. Order was cancelled #1319422518a. Now i have no service. No one seems to know anything. Att is loosing with these enept employees. There has to be a better way. TERM would he to keep P Ppcustomers.

Faulty screen image, faulty equipment, repeated services, switched carrier | ATT review from San Diego, California

For a few years we put up with AT&T's screen images cracking up, modem replaced several times, equipment mailed back to them several times. Each repair person found a different problem (e.g., wires burned out in the wall, problem coming from an outside location, etc.), and we got a few refunds along the way. We called several times with complaints, but still the poor service continued. In our final complaint, AT&T said they had "no records" of their numerous service visits. We are now totally happy with a different carrier, and have had zero problems. AT&T seemed totally unaware of the number of repair visits to our residence.

I have been on the phone for over 6 hours today trying to get my account fixed. I had the account transferred from my Mom's name to mine so I could add a $9.99 phone till the iphone I ordered comes in. They messed up the transfer & ended up changing my plan. Now they refuse to give me the additional phone that they said I could have. They checked my credit & said it was fine. This is ridiculous that they take 6 hours of my time & then refuse to honor the plan the supervisor said was fine. I have the transcript of our conversation saying that I would not be under contract and it was only $9.99 per month until the iphone arrives since I bought my own phone. Consequences: nothing accomplished. I have been corresponding with then for over 6 hours today, they messed up my bill & I still have no additional phone & now they say it will be $65 per month & under contract for me to get a temporary phone. I should have been told the iphone would not arrive when they said it would. I need to get away from them but one of my lines just got a new iphone & I agreed to a 2 year contract & have no way to get out of it. They do nothing but lie about what you can have and then you are stuck.

Account Transfer Review

When I moved , I wanted to transfer my account. I called and informed them a month earlier. That was 5 months ago. Not only do I not have cable or internet, but they billed me without me knowing and sent it off to a collection agency. When I call, nobody knows anything about why! The whole company are idiots and they rip people off!!!

worst customer service provider than any other cell phone companies! i've had them for a year now and they are nothing but trouble. charged for *** pro rated fees that aren't justified! customer service reps keep hanging up on me! buyers be aware of this scam of a company!!!! i've not had a same bill for the whole time that i've been with them! just got off the phone with them and they basically tell me to go pound sand! will def. pay the *** cancellation fee and find a new company! BUYERS BE AWARE! THEY ARE NOT A GOOD COMPANY TO DEAL WITH!!!

Billing | ATT review

Every month for some reason my bill is like a car note. I pay almost $300 a month for two lines and still don't understand why it's so much. When i ask why it's so much i never seem to get a reason and all i get is that my bill is supposed to be around $180 but it's never that. I also for some reason get charged with a $15 GB a day before my new minutes come in the first of the month. They are a complete rip off and i'm sick of At&t altogether. I can't keep paying these car notes of a bill

The sign at AT&T Licensed store did not say ..WE are only an AT&T dealer .. we only guarantee our products/screwed up services for .. 14 days.. IF u want more u must travel to a AT&T Corporate Store .. customer after customer at Cape Coral Florida AT&T dealer store on Del Prado blvd.. were coming back..like us .. these jokers were not trained properly..screwing up peoples service & equipment..They were not honoring the Co warranties of Co's products they sold. No exchanges for failed products during warranted period. FOR THAT they said .. go to AT&T Corporate store, for us 20 miles ..all this after waiting for 1 hour..SHAME ON AT&T and Apple for using these unqualified..poorly staffed..poorly trained ..so called AT&T licensed dealers .. THEY SHOULD HAVE A SIGN out FRONT .. "Customer Beware" not a Corporate Store
