AT&T is the Worst Company

Today I switched over to Sprint and broke my 2 year contract with AT&T. I feel it was totally worth it due to the terrible customer service and the faulty Palm Pixie phone I had. Just reading the number of consumer complains against this company I really feel that AT&T should be looked into by the FCC and/or driven out of the United States. Their customer service department is a joke. When I complained about some download charges that were not mine I was treated like a liar and criminal. When I tried to get a replacement phone for my faulty Palm Pixie they gave me an hour and half run-around. Then I was finally told that the Warranty Department couldn't even help me. If anyone is considering switching over to this deceitful and scamming company, run don't walk away. You will be sorry!

Hey Heidi,

I'm very sorry to hear that you had an experience like this! I'm with AT&T and I would be happy to help you get everything straightened out on your account. Can you send an email with your contact information to ATTCustomerCare@***.com?

Thanks!

jsorrell

Ever since Southwestern Bell changed their name to AT&T, service has gone to *** and I will drop them at the first opportunity. I have an open Better Business Bureau Complaint against them and it will stay open until they promise not to bill third party charges to my phone bill.

John N Mzy

Don't jump too high for joy quite yet Heidi. We recently switched from Sprint to Verizon because of the *** customer service at Sprint.

Most of the time when we called them we were routed to either India or Mexico, I couldn't tell which, other than they were unable to effectively communicate in the English language; and after some three years they all of a sudden jacked up the monthly rate. To top it all off, their local store has the most inept and lazy employees I have ever seen!

They claim to not be able to do anything and just refer you to their telephone customer service---even tho two months prior one of their own people in fact did help my military son out with a problem when he was home on leave. In any event, Sprint is a no go for us now.

The Deadly $2,200 AT&T roaming charge!

I was in Europe with my wife in the Winter of 2009. We both had our AT&T BlackBerry "smartphones". We had the "family plan" and the so-called International calling plan.... My wife is from the country we were in, and used her phone to contact former friends and relatives. The day of departure, my wife was in the airport, and the flight had been cancelled due to blizzard conditions, and she needed to contact me FAST! Low and behold, she realized that her Blackberry service was suspended without warning to her or me (I had the primary phone). She was stuck in the weather outside, I was at a total lost why I could not contact her and why I had not heard from her!! Long story short, it turned out that AT&T had unilaterally decided that my wife's phone had reached a threshold for "roaming charges", and the terminated service to her phone, but, not mine!!! I later discovered that the AT&T "roaming" charge was over $2,200!!!!! This, on their "plan"!!! We cold have easily purchased a throw-away cell in that country for $50 that would have achieved exactly the same calls, but, with our "plan", we fully believed it was unnecessary!!!! AT&T charges for their "plans" are high.., far higher than the competition, including much higher than T-Mobile, which is a company that AT&T now plans to buy out (WHICH IS A BAD THING FOR COMPETITION). When my primary phone contract with AT&T expired, I left them for T-Mobile. When I heard AT&T was planning to buy T-Mobile, I left them 2 weeks ago, and am now with Metro-PCS (and saving over $70/month over T-Mobile service, which itself was over $100/month less expensive than At&T's "service". I have since "scheduled" the cancellation of my wife's contract, and will face a $75 dollar "penalty" for the 3 month early termination fee. We will go with another Metro-PCS phone and save about $200/month that way, and the penalty is worth it. ADVICE? If you have an AT&T phone or contract, dump it and do yourself a big favor and GET BIG SAVINGS. Hopefully the Feds regulatory folks will NOT approve of the T-Mobile deal. I will never again do any kind of business with AT&T or any of its companies. The same goes for Verizon.

AT&T takes money, provides squat.

Customer service is a joke at AT&T. I tried to sign up for service online, but after sending me a confirmation email and taking my money, no one showed up. I called to find that their website doesn't work and had to start over. They charged me double what I was promised, then said I'd be getting a gift card to cover the difference. It never came. I spent at least 10 hours on the phone over a period of sixth months trying to get my bills right. There is no one who works for this company who can give a straight answer about anything. Now my billing is correct, but the service itself is terrible. One out of ten time I try to use the web, I get a "not connected to the internet" message. This is a company whose business model is to attempt to rake in money and spend as little as possible on service. Many of their practices seemed designed to discourage customers from seeking resolutions, especially when it comes to billing. Take your business elsewhere.

AT&T Uverse Bundle

For 2 years AT&T has hounded us to bundle our phone, internet and TV service with them. We already had our phone and internet throught them but had a contract with DirecTV that we had to complete first. Let me add that we had been with DirecTV for about 18 years and when we moved to our new home we took them with us...unbeknownst to us that extented our contract! So, the contract was almost up and we decided to call and talk to AT&T again. I specifically told them we already had internet and phone thru them and asked if we were still eligible for the bundle deals that they offered...OF COURSE we were!! she said. She offered ~$150/month plus extra for extra recievers and taxes, etc...for 12 months. Then, at the end of the year she said to be sure to call back and talk to them because they often will offer the going rates for their bundles just to keep you. GREAT DEAL we thought...so we did it. So then we get our first bill for $281!!! At first it was explained that part of it was our outstanding phone bill plus a partial month of TV service. Then the more I asked questions and talked to them it comes out that we were not eligible for the bundle BECAUSE WE WRE ALREADY UVERSE CUSTOMERS!!! First of all she asked for and looked up my "Uverse Acct #" at the beginning of the phone call then I specifically ASKED if we were eligible because we were already Uverse customers. She didn't just mislead...she out and out lied. The supervisor apologized and said there was zero tolerance for such things and that the person's manager would be informed and she would be dealt with...she probably got a f'ing BONUS! Then she said she would apply to another office to see if they could manually build the bundle into the system for us but that she had no way of fixing it for us herself. She was supposed to call back within a few days to inform me of their decision. A week later they had not called yet so I just called...they have rejected the request, of course....surprise, surprise!! AT&T has had my home phone service for MANY years and my internet service for almost 4 years. I was with DirecTV for over 18 years. We do not just jump around from providor to providor to get a good deal. We have been loyal customers wherever we were. Now they are going to loose us completely. I am going to get rid of my land line (who needs one anymore) and go to Clear for my internet. Haven't decided what we are going to do for TV yet...but you can BET it won't be with AT&T!! Don't believe ANYTHING they tell you. What a bunch of crooks!! We were not happy with DirecTV service but they did not LIE to us just to get us as customers. How can this be legal?! How do you hold someone accountable for this?! Don't use AT&T for anything. It's the only weapon we have against these companies. C. Soto Spring, TX

I would like to add before I went to the store I called att and had them tell me which phones they were talking about in that letter and they didn't know bute were able to tell me that the 2 g phone I had was the Razor so it was pretyy obvious. Also the on the 6th I showed up down there and it was packed. I was then told the date has been extended through the month of January so the letter is still valid.

ATT has the worst service in America

These people really suck! ATT is the only phone company on the planet that cannot call numbers connected using MagicJack. In order for anyone using a cell phone through ATT and trying to call a number through Magicjack, the cell phone user has to dial TWO phone numbers. How *** is that? ATT's worthless support people blame it on MagicJack, but as I said, NO OTHER PHONE COMPANY HAS THIS PROBLEM. If they do not fix their worthless system or I will bomb ATT on every forum on the internet. Hopefully enough Magicjack users will be pissed off enough to overload ATT with complaints.

The old Bait and Swicht!

We wanted to move from T Mobile and get I phones, we told the sales woman we needed unlimited everything, and she said yes and let me save you some money on your internet, cable and phone. you can try it for 6 mo. and save 25%. well we agreed and got all of it, about 2 weeks later we get an email that we have gone pass our media plan on the I phones! we call and they say the no longer have unlimited. so we cancel the cell phone service before the 30 days, didn't have to pay cancelation fees. But we are stuck with U Verse, we thought it was for 6 Months they now say we have a contract for a year. So I say Do Not trust theis sales people! read the fine print ask them to put it in wrinting. As consumers what are we going to do other that write reviews? who reads them exept for others that got screw? I say we should get organized with all this technology we can! anyone has any ideas? let do it!

Could never get through to anyone who knew what to do

att customer service sucks. have been on endless hold all afternoon trying to get an adjustment as promised on my bill for internet since my internet has been having so much outages. I was told to just call them back once I received my bill and that everything was already noted and the adjustment would be given. I only got passed from one person to another and another and then, disconnected and never got anything done about the adjustment promised. One of the customer service people even told me she saw all to the notes on our account and then connected me to the "right department" in another country and the girl there told me that she couldnot do anything about that and was useless. She also would not connect me to a US customer service person as I requested her to do many many times. I finally hung up on her. I HATE AT&T!!!!! I WILL NOT BE PAYING FOR THIS VERY SUBSTANDARD HORRIBLE SERVICE. I AM SO MAD I'D LOVE TO HURT SOMEONE IF ONLY I COULD. THEY KEEP SAYING TO KEEP A LOOKOUT FOR A CUSTOMER SERVICE SURVEY, BUT I NEVER GET ONE OF THOSE EITHER. I WISH I DID, I'D SURE GIVE THEM AN EARFUL. WHY THE *** ARE ALL OF THOSE JOBS BEING SENT OVERSEAS TO IDIOTS ANYWAY. THE BOTTOM LINE THAT'S ALL AT&T CARES ABOUT. I AM PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ATT Internet Worst by far

ATT Internet service in this community is the worst I have ever experienced and I have used internet across the US. It is down at least as much as it is working and complaints are routinely brushed off. Technicians seem unable to fix the problems that they have admitted are in their lines but say nothing can be done unless the main office issues orders for them to work on it. The main office dispatches a long stream of techs and the situation repeats in a circular fashion. No one takes ownership of the problem. Its like a bad movie. They want you to upgrade to their expensive plan but I would sooner go to the competition knowing how incompetent they are or careless about the average consumer. Sick of it.

ATT Repair Service

Our Florida business phone lines had static. I still have no luck getting past the live person who does some "test" then sends me to a loop that is inescapable, except to hang up. It took some doing to get to the live person (tried twice) - second time got caught up by sales pitch, (actually had already committed to this business plan so went ahead) yet after 40 minutes, back in to the twilight loop. I am very disappointed in ATT - and their outside vendor solicitor system does not work well, either. Wish there was an alternative for small business like ours

ATT reps kept calling about bundling services. They finally offered me a bundle for my home phone and a cell phone that was supposed to save me $50 a month.

The rep told me that this would go into effect the next day. When I got my bill it was the same and I also got a seperate bill for $125 for cell phone. I called them and they said it took 3 mo. to get it in the system.

I told them that I was changing to save money and they were charging me double and that they had lied to me. They did nothing to straighten this out. I have talked to several other people that have had the same problem. This is WRONG!

I am probably one of their most dissatisfied customers right now. I think it is time for a change.

My phone has been out of order since last Monday. The repair man has been here 3 times.

Had noise on line first, got that fixed. Next morning no dial tone. Got that fixed, phones wouldn't ring. Fixed that and now main phone in living room, no dial tone.

They were supposed to be here on Friday and didn't come, said they would be here on Saturday by 8 p.m. be sure someone is home - did't come. I have been with at&t for over 40 yrs. but I am about ready to change.

This is rediculious. You are expected to pay your bill but they will not repair the phones.

Liars and Crooks! *Little Elm, TX Store*

Stay FAR away from ATT's Wireless Stores! As a loyal AT&T home services customer for 10 years, I chose one of their retail stores when it was time to upgrade my phone. I am SOOO SORRY I DID! I was sold a windows phone that was junk, and a very expensive plan that was lower quality than my Boost mobile phone. What sold me was the fact that the salesperson told me that if I was unhappy with the service I could cancel within and owe nothing. And I was very unhappy, so I cancelled after 10 days. Low an behold, a month later I'm fighting to dispute a $500 bill!

ATT Charges way too much for their services

I had been a customer of ATT for several years. With my phone I was paying 140 dollars per month for my services. With sprint, I pay just under 70 per month the only difference is I have only 450 land line minutes, however I never call land lines only cellphones and if I need to call a landline its not for very long. d d d d dd d d d d d dd d d d d d d d d d fdf ds fsd f s f s f s f s fs fs f s sf f

Inspiracell text scam

Inspiracell is a service that sends you a text message to your mobile (AT&T in my case) saying that you need to reply in order to not to be charged $9.99. Although they charge you right away, this company never provides the service they are suppose to offer. AT&T also needs to be accounted for this fraud since they are in negotiation with these third party companies. Mobile subscribers will have to raise their voice to the responsible institutions. We need to have a subscriber rights ACT that protects us from these illegal predator type of business.
