ATT in Los Angeles, California - AT&T Charges for services NOT provided

At&T has been billing us for a service not used since January 1999. We have called several times during that time questioning the reason we are being charged and we have always gotten the answer that it is a service fee for our 800 number. In December 1998 a resporg form was sent to At&t requesting the change in service & At&t released it to Qwest. They released it but continued to bill us for a service they didnt provide. Several calls in the mean time have been placed questioning the bill but they told us it was for the 800 number. We thought that maybe there was some service they were providing that we needed and continued to pay. Now, almost 10 years later we make yet another call questioning what we are paying for and we got someone with a brain who told us that we were paying for a service that has not been active. I have been trying to get a supervisor or someone with authority to talk to at At&t but somehow they all seem to be in a meeting every single time I call. I have called 10 times in the last week but cannot get anyone to offer more than a $600 refund. We started paying about $20.00 and now pay in upwards of $65.00 per month. Even if we average that out, we are looking at a few thousand dollars. Just last week I filed a complaint with the Utilities Commission but have not heard back yet. At&t knows they have been charging us for a service they have not provided but refuse to refund the money. What makes it worse is there are no other local carriers to switch to.

ATT in Virginia Beach, Virginia - At&t charges!

At&t is charging me $1300, money that I know I don't owe. I never used my cell-phone that much. I used to call and ask why so high a bill? They'd just explain it the easy way. " You went over your minutes". Let's increase your minutes to match up the plan you need (no text messages, no internet, no gps), and gime a price. Then nex month it was even higher!!! I called four times and they'd always tell me the same story, "You went over your minutes". "Let's change your plan". Even before I cancelled my service they're asking for $500-700 a month. I refused to continue that service, even though I'll have to pay for any extra charge. I rather pay $1300 once and not to pay over $700 a month.

ATT in Streamwood, Illinois - AT&T Cell Phone Service Horrible Dropped Calls, Garbled Voices,Etc...

I had Cingular and the service was fabulous! I never had a complaint ever! Then, AT&T took over Cingular and immediately I have had nothing but problems ever since! I have one DROPPED call after another all day long EVERY day! The reception is HORRIBLE! Everyone's voice is all GARBLED throughout the entire call! I can't even take calls at work on my cell phone EVER! When I ask AT&T why this is they tell me it shouldn't be any different then when it was Cingular! Well is is Drastically different and we will not renew our contract!

If you have dropped calls why didn't you cancel your service in the 30 day return period? Common sense people

I live in what AT&T refers to as their strongest signal strength area - in the city of Portland, Oregon.

I've have several dropped calls. Once 4 times in a row. And several people have said that my voice sounds garbled, choppy, and are having trouble hearing me (fading).

I want to let you know that AT&T charges an Activation Fee of about $36. And they make it a pain to try to get it back. So far all they have are excuses why I can't get my money back.

I'm happy to pay for phone time, but not anything related to service that does not work. Including a Activation Fee for service that does not perform as advertised.

Take my advice and never get an account with AT&T. AT&T has poor cellphone coverage and terrible customer service.

ATT in Franklin, Massachusetts - Unauthorized bill on my AT&T phone plan

I was charged a $15.85 on my AT&T bill for charges I did not authorize. This was a bill from a 3rd party called MYIPRODUCTS IMAIL LLC. This is a total scam and I want my phone bill credited. Has anyone else experience this???? This service was ordered on August 16, 2008 and appeared on August 21, 2008 billing. Why is ATA&T letting their customers get scammed thru a 3rd party for services I did not request, nor want.I have tried uncessfully to contact this IMAIL thru 1-800-286-4455 and can not get thru to a live person.

Yes, I got this too. I did talk to a live person, was on hold a LOT> They claimed I ordered it online, and even sent me some bogus webpage form I supposedly filled out.

Never saw it!

They got my info and computer address from somewhere and just did it. I have complained to AT&T and to the attorney general of Minnesota, where they are located.

I HATE AT&T....I have been lied to since the first day with this company. They quoted me one price for signing up for their service and it was around $86.00...I have never received a bill in that amount...it has been as high as $175. I called and complained and...

The lies that are told by the incompetent phone representatives should be charged in a court of law. I called recently to pay my bill and was told that I would need to pay for days that were suspended, OMG what robbery.

Who pays for service you do not use?

I spoke with two representatives and two Supervisors and nothing was resolved. Lies are the same in any language.

ATT in Washington, District Of Columbia - AT&T PrePaid Phone Card Plus_Aiee!

I found out how the AT&T PrePaid Phone Card Plus (Use for out-of-state long distance calls only; they will ream you for instate calls) works! I bought one from Wal-Mart with 300 minutes on it. Here's what you do: 1_Dial the main AT&T number, which is 1-800-487-7646. 2_Enter the 12-digit card PIN number (You just scratched the covering off of it.) 3_This will not work, but you will then (Hopefully) get a lady with a lovely East European voice who will tell you to dial: 10 10 28 80. 4_You will then get an electronic voice that tells you to dial the Area Code and Phone Number of the person you have been trying to call. 5_This also will not work and you will be told to dial the "For Customer Care" number on the back of the card: 1-888-854-6741. 6_They will tell you to Re-dial the 12-digit card PIN number, which they will suddenly no longer acknowledge or recognize. 7_They will tell you to dial (AGAIN!) the main AT&T number 1-800-487-7646 OR the Area Code and Phone Number of the person you have been struggling to contact. 8_They will tell you (Again! For the third time!) to re-dial the 12-digit card PIN number, which they still will not acknowledge or recognize. 9_Slam down the phone in disgust as you realize you've been ripped off again by one of these *** companies (See TracFone.) 10_Keep your eyes open; you might someday run into an AT&T Phone Card Sales Representative. Should this happen... 11_"Accidentally" drop a dollar on the ground and... 12_When they greedily bend over to pick it up, well, I'm sure you will know right where to shove the card!

ATT in Kansas City, Kansas - Misinformation!

So I work in the customer service industry! I work for one of AT&T's competitors! I have had my AT&T account for 10 years! I know what to ask! So before I purchased my new Pantech DUO I called in to check for the rebate requirements. There are always requirements! I was told by an agent that my plan was fine and I qualified for the rebate. So I made the purchase online. I print my rebate form and begin filling it out and BAM there it is! You must have either a $20 or more text plan or a $30 or more PDA plan to get the rebate. I had neither. So I call to check on what plan I need to add to get the rebate. I add a $30 unlimited data/text package. Sweet I am thinking I can handle that$ I was paying $15 for 1500 text and $5 for a bit of data. So $10 more and I can use the features of my new and cool phone! Wrong! The data is not working! I call and they tell me I still have a Motorola phone associated with my account! So I give them my new phone information so that it can be added to the account! Then BAM again, oh you can not use this unlimited $30 plan with a PDA phone! Oh so the plan is $30 for only data.and another $15 for you text messages.....That classification of PDA is *** ***...It has been designed by these companies to make more money. It is a friggin built for text qwerty keyboard phone that is windows based! What the ***? This is *** and I am not happy! People always complain about the lack of education with the customer care reps. I totally agree. I have been at my job for 5 years and have had so much continued training ! could vomit! You train to retain! hello people! I rock at my job and never I repeat never give incorrect information. I would lose my job if I did! Accountability! I have it.

ATT in Oceanside, California - Disconnect services due to a past due payment they have received and cashed

First the disconnected my cell phone services in A ugust, I wanted an explanation since I had gone to the banlk and got copies of the canceled check they cahed in August 2008. I was so angry...., they apologized and the next day reconnected services. It still ruined my whole entire day since I was moving that day and did not have services, your basic CRISIS. tHEN i AM ON MY WAY TO SEE MY DOCTOR AND i WAS SUPPOSE TO BRING SOM FILES FROM ANOTHER DOCTOR i CALLED TO SEE IF THEY WERE READY, MY PHONE IS OUT OF SERVICE. This time they claimed I owe a payment for July. After my long intenssive research at home I discovered I paid every single month and have records to prove with canceled checks. I decided at this point to switch providers. AT&T is incompetent, negligent, rude, they lack intelligence and knowledge on how to run the business or even which month is due, they don't have a clue. Is like having a bunch of inmature young girls scouts running the show, totally CLUELESS. It is basically a joke, I rather go for smart/ professional customer service.

ATT in West Palm Beach, Florida - AT&T lies about rates then charges what they want

I am very upset and outraged about the way I have been treated in recent months by AT&T. A while ago an AT&T rep asked me if I would like to upgrade to the highest DSL speed at no extra cost. I agreed. Instead, he added a 2nd DSL line to my account! Every time I get a bill I am charged twice for DSL service and have spent a great deal of time sorting this out. Each time, I’m assured it won’t happen again, but it does. About a month ago, because of this and other issues, I arranged to switch my service to Vonage. I was sent to AT&T’s “Save” department where I was offered the following for $80, permanently, including taxes: Two lines, unlimited long distance, DSL and Complete Choice. When that deal did not show up on my most recent bill (but the extra DSL charge did), I called and was told there was no way I could get such a rate; that the best rate would be $94.95 for six months, and then I will have to call back. My husband got on the phone and asked to speak with a supervisor. When she came on the line he told her that he was going to record the call, and she terminated the call! It’s OK for them to record me but it’s not OK for me to record them? Therefore, nothing was resolved after spending more than an hour on the phone with the person she was supervising. This is absolutely outrageous and I do not appreciate all the time and aggravation I have been subjected to. At&T employees have either been downright incompetent or outright liars. I’m not sure which. This is no way to treat customers.

In June, I left AT&T because of the DSL usage cap. In Nov., AT&T called me, and told me that I could get my same spped DSL (6.0), withNO caps, for $19.95/month, for 1 year, and $38/month after that (still NO caps).

I was sceptical, so I did not sign up then. The next day, I contacted AT&T to see if the offer was legit, and they confirmed it. Later that day, I called AT&T back, to order DSL, and they also confirmed that there would be NO caps (she said, "AT&T realized that they lost alot of customer due to the cap, so they changed it back to NO caps."). At the end of Nov., I called to check mybal., and it was $18 higher than it should have been, so I spoke with a rep., and they told me that the $19.95 would kick in 3 months after sign up, and confirmed that there were NO caps.

Then, the other day, I received an email stating that I went over my limit! I then called AT&T, and asked why I was lied to everytime I asked about the limit, and she didn't have an answer for me.

I told her that it is bad business to lie to customers, and that I will be looking for another ISP! This really makes me angry, I don't like being lied to, and I am sure that I am not the only one that they have done this to!

ATT in Gainesville, Florida - At&t promised a reward for switching service

Hello,I received a card in the mail offering $50.00 to switch phone service to at&t. So i switched but never received the reward. When i called at&t i was told there was no reward for switching local service. Heres the deal, some where at at&t is a recorded conversation where an at&t rep promises me i will receive $50.00 for switching my local phone service. The moral of the story is, don't trust At&t. They will lie to you and not return your phone calls.Thank You, robert somers 352_377-1871
