Over 20 years as a customer and never again!!!!

I have been charged for a number that is not my number for months only to be told that a credit will be applied to my next bill. No such thing has happened and I finally went over to Verizon. Horrible service!!!!

Charging for items not having

AT&T -(was DirecTV) They said they had to replace my boxes (2) or i will loose my channels. I asked if there was a charge to do this - they said no. I asked if there was a charge for the equipment - they said no. i asked if there was a charged was a charge down the line for this and they said no. i also told them that i paid for one of the boxes-(85.00) and they said they would credit my account. When i got my bill for month of April there were over charges on it. I called but they would not give me credit. They said i have what they are billing me for. I called three times to clear up the matter. First time the lady said she could not do anything. So i called back and got someone else who told me that i don't have that equipment and she would take it off the bill. so i waited 3 days and still on the bill. The next time I called asked for a supervisor and again they did their best to play around and not connect. When someone got on the phone and said he was a supervisor but did not acted like it. He said that i did have the equipment. I asked for a supervisor to meet me on Wednesday and i will show them what I have. He said no. I WOULD LIKE TO SOLVE THIS MATTER AND HAVE THEM LOOKED INTO OF OVER CHARGING CUSTOMERS. I was told I had to pay or have late fees and maybe cut off!!!!!!!

They don’t need permission buddy!! Sorry but they qualify as a PUBLIC UTILITY!

This gives them the right. Just because you don’t understand how things work any more doesn’t make them bad.

I’m sure you can use the internet to explain how public utilities work is done and what rights you do and don’t have. Durpa

Loyalty department scam

Hi everyone, Coming here to ask for your help and suggestions on what you think should be my next steps. This is probably the most dishonest company I had business with in the past years. Last February I called AT&T to discuss my wireless plan and complain about the so called “connection fee” ($20/month just to connect my smartphone to my plan, like I could use my plan in any other way). After being transferred to the Loyalty department and discussing with them I was offered an upgrade from my iPhone 7 to the new iPhone XR at a discounted price ($349 if I remember well) and asked to call back on the closure of my billing cycle to change for an unlimited plan. I asked and the agent clearly stated that from then onwards I’d pay a lower amount vs what I was paying at that time. Fast forward, they have INCREASED my connection fee to $40/month, my plan was not changed and now I’m locked for 2 years in the contract because of the discounted phone. Which btw there’s almost nothing discounted there, because on top of the $349 already paid I have these extra $20/month disguised as connection fee for the 2 years of the contract, so another $240 on the price. Spoke to the Loyalty department yesterday and they say there’s nothing I can do about it, I requested them to pull the recording of my call with the Loyalty department and they say that’s not possible also, informed also that if I change providers I’ll have to pay the early termination fees (around $300). On top of it to unblock my phone it would take about 2 months, since they say I have to pay my early termination fees (about 1-2 cycles after I leave) and then request it to be unblocked. So my questions to you: - Any suggestions on how to proceed from here? - Does anyone know how to accelerate the unblocking of the phone once I transfer to another provider? And my suggestions: don't EVER do business with AT&T! Thanks!

Terrible customer service/Management

My cell service is terrible with ATT. After attempts to resolve the issue with multiple dropped calls I spoke with a manager, and asked if there was a way to reduce the device cost they wanted me to pay while leaving. She compared my issue with wanting to return a car because it has bad gas mileage. WHAT! I tried to correct her and she would not let me talk and then hung up on me. I did not swear at her, yell at her or say anything derogatory. She just wouldn't let the customer talk when I tried to tell her she was wrong in that analogy. Never again ATT!!! I left Verizon to get a deal on my Directv. Big freaking mistake, Verizon rules and I will never leave again. By the way Miss Manager! It is more like the engine doesn't run in my car and they cant fix it when it is a couple months old. At least you get a warranty. Sorry, but car dealerships would actually try to fix problems with their product, especially if it is only a few months old.. I know I signed a contract, but they could have offered me something, or for me to return my phones, or a bit of a discount for the terrible service I've encountered. Don't waste your time with this company.

Changing price every month

I got a phone call about going back to direct from dish and they would bundle my phone and internet for 114 dollars a month so I went back to direct in November of last year. So I did this, so my bill had been close to $200 dollars so I call was told direct people offered this , which is owned by ATT to my understanding, so ATT said direct can not offer bundles. I was told they would bundle and I would pay $150. a month so far my bill has been way more this month it was $250. I have ask for copies of the conversations since they have been recorded but I may need my lawyer to do this very mad about this situation please do not fall for Direct and ATT bull they spread because it is not true if any one else has had this problem I want to get a lawyer so this can be took to court shame on ATT.

Over charges for 2 years

October of 2016 was the last time my tablet was used. I canceled my tablet with a phone CSR. Thinking that it has been deleted off my bill. I have continued to pay my monthly bill. Three weeks ago I noticed Im being charged$20 usage and $8.99 insurance for the tablet . I have called to cancel out the tablet a numerous amount of times. I have gotten transferred time after time to different departments. With the wait times and the horrible customer service. I still have not gotten the problem resolved. None the less I also noticed that Im being charged for premium insurance on one of my phones. That I have never purchased. I have looked at my records and also been told by a CSR that these charges have been on going since 2016. I am so upset and frustrated especially knowing that I have been a loyal customer for 10 plus years.

Ripoff

I received a bill for April and it was $40.00 higher than my last bill. I called and was told I had to have some P.I.N. number. I said no I don't need a P.I. N. as I am cancelling. She told me I had to have one. I asked for a supervisor and she said supervisor would say same thing. I said fine I'll send you a letter canceling and she said that would not cancel service. I told her my attorney would say otherwise.

Entrapment

Months ago AT&T i.e. Direct TV, contacted us multiple times asking us to do a trail view on their premium TV movies. Each time they called we said no thank you, but they kept calling over and over. The last time they called they told my husband to take the free 90 day trail and they WOULD reach out to us to see if we wanted to continue the option. Well needless to say they didn't reach out to us...like most of you know they don't work that way. We got billed for the option like I knew we would and called in to have it discontinued and have that amount refunded. The following month we were billed again and of course no refund. My husband called and of course they had no record of the last call or that we didn't want the package. SO, we are still paying this extra amount and no way to get them to stop. If AT&T did this to hundred of thousand customers don't you think they would be dirty rich...and I STRESS the word DIRTY. Find another carrier people!

Promised tv internet and phone , singed up for 2 years no internet available in my area had to get anothr co so now they say I'm contracted for the 2 years even if they couldn't provide internet. won

called often was told no penalty for disconnect but today I was told I still have another year. this company is the worst experience I've ever had they don't listen they keep transferring your call the someone else. when I wanted to talk to someone in authority they said they were the only ones to talk to. I wish I had never heard of direct tv!!!!!

Lying ATT employees

I have been trying to get the original price that I was quoted now for three months! I have spent about 6 hours on the phone holding on,being hung up on (in the guise of dropped call) or being transferred to someone else and no one knows what is going on and the managers or supervisors will not help me. I have been told that I would get a discount by one person and the next employee doesn't understand how that could happen! ATT is by FAR the WORST company to do business WITH! If you are looking to purchase TV,phone & internet DO NOT use ATT! They ADD charges in that you have NEVER heard of and they will make you thoroughly make you REGRET trying to do business with them!

Incompetent billing department

Two days ago I received my first "AT&T" bill for my DirectTV service. The last previous bill was received from DirecTV in January. I paid it on time. Apparently AT&T made a change in their billing department and is now sending a bill payable to AT&T instead of DirecTV. I did not receive a bill in February but didn't notice it. I don't make out a check list every month of the approximate time all the various bills are likely to arrive. I CAN'T PAY A BILL IF I DON'T GET IT! I sent out a check for February & March the same day the bill arrived (03-18). Today I received a recorded call requesting payment of my delinquent bill. I DON'T LIKE BEING TREATED LIKE A DEADBEAT!!! AT&T NEEDS TO GET CONTROL OF THE OPERATION (MAYBE REPLACE SOME MANAGERS) AND STRAIGHTEN OUT THE DAMN BILLING DEPARTMENT!! Are you hiring illiterate illegals? If this is the way you treat your customers, I won't be switching to AT&T phone service anytime soon.

when I received my current Directv bill I was surprised by a credit card payment of $288.55. I had auto pay for my tv bill which is around $95.00 a month.

After talking to my husband he realized that the $288.55 was supposed to go for our home phone and cell service. Here is the funny part if you want to call it funny, I call it stupidity on ATTs behalf. The TV bill is in my name and the phone bill is in my husbands name with 2 completely different account numbers. TV bill was on auto pay with a debit card and my husband paid the phone bill through our bank payment center, no credit card associated with this.

After spending over 2 hours on the phone trying to get the $288.55 from the tv bill to the phone bill we were told they could not do that, that they have to send the $288.55 back and that took 5 days for them to return it to our bank account. My husband resubmitted the $288.55 again.

We were assured that we would not be charged a late fee for there screw up, just received our current phone bill and it is over $500 and also a LATE FEE. I have been a Directv customer since 1996 before it was called Directv, December 26, 2019 my 2 year sentence is up and Directv will be out of my house for good.

Unwanted phone calls

I keep getting calls from telemarketers. I tell them to not call, because I am on a do not call list, which is a really big JOKE! When I called to complain, the lady gave me a number to call, which was to get on the do not call list...I AM ALREADY ON A DO NOT CALL LIST. I tried to figure out how to block the numbers, but I get so many of them and I do not understand how to do it, even though I am paying for it. What I want to know is how to keep these people from calling. I understand that I could turn them in to someone....only God know who or where. I am sure my complaint is not on the right site, but there doesn't seem to be a simple way to talk to anyone, in person or on line to resolve this problem. I am seriously considering dropping my land line because of this on going problem. Several of our family members have done this and seem happy with it. I have even gotten calls from personal individual phone numbers and when I call them back, it is not from the person that called, even though there number was used. I would like to know, how is this possible, when we pay for that number and someone else is using it?? Seems to me that AT&T would have a way to stop someone from using our personal phone numbers. Makes me wonder if people have gotten phone calls from our number. We used to receive phone calls from our own phone number with our name listed as the caller, but that hasn't happened in a while...probably changed to someone else's. AT&T needs to FIX THIS PROBLEM, BEFORE THEY START LOSING CUSTOMERS, that is if you even care.

Do NOT give your number to any websites. That's probably how they got your number despite placing it on the "Do Not Call List". I know this from experience.

Can't seem to be a way to send an email without jumping through a lot of hoops, some of which I can't fill in as I do not have that info. Grrrrrr
