Directions created by Jean E. DeLauche

The separate Weather On Demand channel no longer exists.

Instead, on the Weather Channel (SD channel 225 or HD channel 1225), you can either wait until the Interactive side bar on the right side of the screen appears (then start with Step 6, below), or press the Interactive button on your Uverse remote control.

If you press the Interactive button on the remote control . . . 1.

You will see the Interactive choices in a left side bar on your screen 2. Move down to hightlight Weather/Services 3. Press the OK button 4. Then press the > (Right arrow) button on the right of the OK button to highlight The Weather Channel icon 5.

Press the OK button 6. The Interactive side bar will appear on the right side of the screen 7. With the > (Right arrow) button on the right side of the OK button, move over to Settings 8. Press OK 9.

Follow the on screen directions to set your favorite Weather On Demand locations; Note: There is a limit of only 5 locations for the Locations list* 10. Press the V (Down arrow) below the OK button 12. A Left arrow and a Right arrow should appear on either side of the information for the location you have listed first in your list of Locations 13.

Today, 7 Sep 2016, I noticed we no longer received the AT&T Uverse Weather On Demand service (channel 227 SD; channel 1227 HD.)

I checked the AT&T Uverse Community forums and found more than one complaint about the loss, all posted today. There were no solutions posted by any AT&T Uverse user or any AT&T Uverse staff member. Some of the posted complaints in the forums stated AT&T Uverse Customer Service was called and the Customer Service representatives only said the channels no longer existed. They did not give any information about other options.

I eventually figured out what had gone on and wrote my own solution, as follows:

The separate Weather On Demand channel no longer exists. 10. You will have to use this Interactive feature from now on for Weather On Demand

Yes, this is EXTREMELY ANNOYING AND I HATE IT!!!!! How hard would it have been for the AT&T Uverse Customer Service Representatives been given directions similar to those I have written above?

Product or Service Mentioned: Att U-verse Tv Service.

Reason of review: Not as described/ advertised.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

I have recently found information that indicates changes of AT&T Uverse programming are published in the print newspaper USA Today. Yah, AT&T Uverse customers are supposed to subscribe to or purchase individual issues of USA Today to learn about programming changes!

Get real!

Another option for AT&T Uverse customers to learn about future programming changes is to regularly check this web site:

programmingchanges.att.com

and select the state where the customer is located to read the notices about programming changes.

What part of "customer service" means making the customer go look for relevant information on updates and changes?

Personally, since A&T Uverse is forcing its customers to take their time to check other sources to learn about progamming changes, perhaps the company could give us all a $10.00 reduction in our monthly TV bills.

I suspect we will see pigs with wings flying in the air if that happens! :)

Since my post, I have discovered the announcement of the 7 Sep 2016 ending of AT&T Uverse channels 227 and 1227, Weather On Demand, buried in an AT&T Uverse announcement on program changes for July 2016.
