I Had Flat on I-10 and, after Waiting 4-1/2 Hours, I Changed It Myself, & and ATT RSA Still Wanted to Charge Me!
Terrible customer service, from the initial woman with whom I spoke and her supervisor. Neither had spacial relations capabilities. I told the first woman that I had a flat on I-10, 10 miles east of the Mississippi/Louisiana border at the appropriate mile post marker,...

The absolute last straw for me was when AT&T came to the conclusion was that it was the dealership that lost the keys because the tow driver did deliver the keys by climbing over the locked gate after hours to put the keys in the vehicle!! So apparently AT&T finds it...

Okay, first of all, you’re overpaying for AT&T’s *** phone service as it is, so, fees should be something you’re used to. Second, another $2.99 per month isn’t going to guarantee you free things, especially on your weekends phone bill.

Also, in all fairness, your terms also are not telling the truth and here’s how. I worked for this division some time ago. AT&T contracts their roadside assistance to Allied Dispatch Solutions, because it isn’t like the lazy no goods do their own work. Where the terms state that you have a $75 coverage benefit, that isn’t true.

Allied takes $25 of that to apply to tows and winches while they take $45 for services like jump starts, lock outs, tire changes, etc. You probably needed a tow, but they recommended a jump start for the pure purpose of making the company more money and causing you to make more calls, again making them more money. The company pays their employees minimum wage and barely on time as it is, while overcharging them for *** equipment. They also barely pay their providers on time.

The company also trains their employees for only THREE DAYS and then just tosses them on the phones. That’s why you almost always got someone who seemed to be intimidated. Also, if you used Safeco, Motor Club of America, or Liberty Mutual, they also use Allied. Your best bet is to switch providers, to Verizon or TMobile.

Never had issues with either, and I’ve used their roadside service. They pay more and services providers are always on time. Again, I worked for these people.

The employees are trained bottom line to lie their *** off for you, and the threat of losing a paycheck forces them to do it. Write to the CEO your complaints, but they likely wouldn’t care anyway.

I called for a tow truck at 9:40 pm I’m still sitting here waiting and it’s 10:55 pm the business I had to pull into will be closing at 11:00 pm and the lighted area I’m currently at will be dark I told this to the dispatcher when I called and all she could say is we’re still working on getting some one to you (hour ago) I’m so pissed and will be investing my money with AAA I can not believe they still have me just waiting no phone call back no nothing.... this is rediculous and they really need to look into redoing their contracts... I’ve witnessed crack sells and prostitution by sitting here waiting to be towed ... I just want to get home I’m pissed to the max

"I PAID 2.99 A MONTH FOR ALL THESE YEARS BLAH BLAH"

Congratulations, you're one of the millions that think that you paying less than half of a price for a cup of coffee at Starbucks per month entitles you to free things anytime you want. AT&T doesn't work that way, and for someone who has worked for the Roadside Assistance department, I hope this better informs you as I will explain this to you.

In accordance to your terms and conditions, if your service request is covered, AT&T is to provide a payment of $75 per service event that goes towards the cost of the wrecker, and should the provider's costs exceed that amount, the remainder is out of pocket.

Example

ABC Towing

Tire Change $100 - $75 (AT&T's payment) = $25, your out of pocket expense.

Only not quite. If you fail to mention that you are covered for $75, you won't get that coverage. Now, management is training agents to say that your max benefit amount was applied. Your coverage is as followed: $50 for towing and winching (stuck in a spot you can't pull your car out of) $30 for lock outs, fuel delivery, jump starts, tire changes, key make, inflating a tire.

That means that the $25 and $45 coverage for those services you're supposed to receive go straight into the call center owners' pockets. AT&T hired the company Allied Dispatch Solutions (A)L(LIE)D for their roadside assistance. On top of not receiving those coverage amounts, you're also told the agents don't know the providers' rates. That is also a lie.

The rates are as clear as the sky is blue. It's difficult to find providers for that company because very little providers want to do business with them. They have been sued numerous times for unpaid invoices equaling no less than $10,000 and continue to owe more companies even more than that, so no doubt there will be more lawsuits. The company pays their agents MINIMUM WAGE, constantly denies agents their breaks and lunches, fires them over the most asinine of things, and only trains them for a maximum of 2 days before throwing them on the floor.

Also, HR constantly underpays them because checks are always screwed up or late. Out of a training class of 20 for me, half of them left the second they found out what the pay was, and there were only 2 left including myself before I quit. The poor treatment, pay, lack of proper health care, etc, nobody stays there for any amount of time. People are constantly quitting because the abuse from management and customers alike isn't worth 7.25 to 9 per hour.

So, more than likely when you call in screaming at an agent, that agent is literally that one step closer to just walking out. If it's anyone you need to sue for false advertisement, it's AT&T for false advertising (I've caught several ATT workers purposely giving misleading information in order to sell the program) and the company they hired, Allied Dispatch Solutions, for pocketing your benefit money and lying about what provider's rates in order to be able to charge you money out of pocket (sometimes, having to pay some out of pocket cannot be avoided, but the likelihood of that happening would be reduced if they honored the terms and conditions). Also, Allied dispatches for MCA/TVC, Liberty Mutual/Safeco, Home & Auto/FIMC, etc. If the agent takes more than an hour to find the provider, the chances of a provider not being available are slim.

It's because management expects agents to shop for the cheapest rate. It doesn't matter if a tow truck is 10 feet in front of you. If they charge $100 for a tow and someone else will do it for $20 with a 3 hour ETA, they'll only hire the 3 hour ETA. The agents are really the ones who get thrown under the bus for these ungrateful SOBs.

My advice? Switch companies. Verizon offers Roadside Assistance for the same price per month but with better coverage. Your car insurance's roadside assistance is more ideal, since such a program is their specialty.

The AT&T roadside assistance program is a huge failure. I feel your pain on being pissed.

We have to provide this *** poor service, and yet we get out jobs threatened every day because the customer isn't happy with the service at all. It's really a no-win situation.

Att - Roadside Assistance Review from Detroit, Michigan

925365 On Thursday September 23, 2016, I had a horrible & terrifying experience. My car stop about 3 miles from my home. I called A T & T roadside assistance. It took the two truck about 2 hrs to reach me. I was told by the operator that E R S Towing would come, but the truck stated 313 Towing. A block from my home, I literally mean a block from my home the driver turns and go down the street 2 blocks away. I turn around and catches up with him. He states that he can't go down residential areas. I stated to him how is he supposed to get my car to me if he can't come down residential street. He then speeds off with my car and gets on the expressway. I couldn't catch up with him. I call him on the cellphone(the only way of contacting him with no name) and he says he can't come down residential street & that he's coming. He would not let me get a word in or explain myself. I called 911, because he had my vehicle and keys. He didn't give me his name or sign anything. 30 minutes later he shows up with the car. Then he tells me he couldn't give me a jumper because the truck is not equipped for that I have to tell the operator what I need. When he takes the car off the flatbed he says ok I'll give you a boost. When he give me a boost the car starts right up. He immediately takes the booster cable loose. The car cuts off. He states I'm sorry but I have to go. My car was hanging out the street. There so much that I'm probably leaving out. I'm really frustrated, upset, and scared of all that has taken place. Where did the person take me car, did he do something to the car or/and did he scam the insurance company of mileage. I'm up all night checking to make sure that my car is still there. I never signed anything. What proof do I. I know that it has been a long time since I've used a towing company, but I know that I shouldn't have the feelings that I have. They charged me $75 for a 17 mile tow last week. That means with the $50 they are supposed to pay that the tow cost $125......ridiculous. The one other time that I called for a tow it was only a $20 surcharge. Why did it go up so much?
