Bought 4 phones on the buy one get one free promotion. We were told once two phones were payed off the, the free phones would be payed off and would not be stuck with AT&T. Now we payed off the phones and the free phones can not go until AT&T pays our phones in the next two years. So the phones are only free if we stay with them so technically we are in a contract. Do not go with them you will be in a contract the buy one free promotion is a bait and switch

They changed my local channels out of Rochester ny to Elmira locals. We live in Wayland,Ny. Our Closes city is Rochester. Local news is Rochester. Not Elmira!!!!! I have had locals for 20 years out of Rochester. Now they change us to Elmira. Dish tv can give us local out of Rochester. Why can’t directv???? No one cares...This is what you get for being stupid and not taking it in or better yet, not paying for a real trackable service. Thanks for the what not to do if you don't want to pay for a phone you returned.

ATT in New York, New York - AT&T is a joke

I went into an AT&T store in New York in July 2017. I went into inquire about my bill. I was wondering why it was so high, since I had already paid off one of my phones. They told me that I was paying for two lines, even though I did pay off one phone, the other phone's installment plan was on the line that I wanted to cancel. They told me that the only way I could cancel the line I did not want anymore was to pay off my phone that I currently owed $200 on. I immediately paid off my phone in order to cancel that one line. Then I went to a different provider who ported my AT&T number over, which automatically canceled my second line on AT&T. I received a final bill from AT&T which I paid in August. I just got an email from AT&T stating that I have a bill of $65 that will be due in October 2017. I called customer service about this error, and the manager told me that he was unable to waive the $65 because I had never called AT&T to cancel the phone line that was not ported over in July. He said he submitted a request to have the fee waived, however, since he has no documentation stating that I wanted to cancel my phone line in July, that they can deny the request. This is not the first miscommunication I had from them, but it will definitely be my last. They have a way of speaking and using terms so that customers are tricked into paying more money and get frustrated when the bill comes in the mail. I STRONGLY do not recommend AT&T to anyone!!

I have repeated my problems so many times to ATT that my head nearly explodes every time I think about all the hours of my personal time I have wasted speaking to ATT, troubleshooting problems they have caused, etc. and the energy I spend with this service provider. Consequently, I will only tell you my problems with ATT: 1. Television service: video and voice do not sync. Only way to fix is temporary and it requires that I change channels and then change back. Last ATT tech at my house said, "It's just that way." 2. Bad Customer Service: Have spent dozens of hours speaking to multiple foreign agents (very poor English speakers) who never issue credits/adjustments they have promised (warning: always ask for a ticket or service # regarding what you are told by ATT. Better yet try to communicate via ATT's chat function so you can print/save the entire conversation). 3. Bad Billing: Watch your ATT billing. It usually creeps up despite what you were promised. Credit/adjustments almost never issued. Requires customers to call back at least one or more time to get ATT to do what you were promised. That's all I can stand to say...my head is nearing exploding again.

I ordered 4 phones in the last 2 years. 2 from Best Buy and 2 from AT&T store. The store slid in a fee for insurance. I have been with AT&T since 1997 even when they went to Cingular and back. I never wanted insurance on any phone but the store employees slipped it in and asked me to sign the ipad they have in store for the phone I was receiving. I have paid over $300 in insurance and didn't know I had it. Ironically when my sons screen cracked and he had insurance I paid out of pocket for a new screen. Why? I didn't know I had insurance. Now AT&T cant do anything about it and totally refuses to give me any sort of credit. The most they are offering is $11 back for both phones. I am looking into Verizon now. BYE AT&T
