I bought a AT&T EL52251 cordless phone set (2 phones) in July 2014.Last week the secondary unit quit.I tested the chargers and switched batteries, determined the battery in unit 2 was defective.

I called AT&T for a replacement as I have a 1 year warranty per owners manual and advertising. Was told warranty was only actually only 45 days. Then they tried to sell me a battery for $14 plus shipping.

I bought one elsewhere for $7 with free shipping.I don't know how they can get away with this kind of outright false advertising and remain in business
